The first Triceratops was found in 1889 by a Palaeontologist called Othniel Marsh. There
was a bit of a mix up though - as he originally
thought that the fossil was a buffalo!

They may have been the most feared dinosaur of its day but Tyrannosaurus Rex's arms were not very impressive. They only had 2 fingers on each hand and were only about 3 feet long making it difficult if not impossible to lift food to their mouths!

Deinonychus was built to kill. It had a big head with sharp, serrated teeth and three sharp claws on each hand. With a relatively large brain and big eyes the Deinonychus was a perfect for chasing and killing naughty little children.
Look out for the flying Pterosaur stealing the eggs of a fully grown Deinonychus! Come and see how the mummy T-Rex guards and protects her baby!

The African Pterosaur is one of the most recently found fossils of a flying reptile. The 110 million year old creature was found in 2003 in the Sahara desert in Africa. But did you know that technically a Pterosaur is not a dinosaur?
Meet Tilly the baby Triceratops. She's a strong little herbivore ready for you to sit on!

Although Triceratops was a plant eater - they were far from defenceless! Each one had 3 big horns and a head shield! A T-Rex fossil was found with a Triceratops horn embedded in its stomach! Ouch!

The Mesozoic Era is divided into three Periods - the Triassic Period, known for Coelophysis; the Jurassic Period, known for Stegosaurus, and the Cretaceous Period, known for Tyrannosaurus and Triceratops.
Excavate the Xiphactinus and the scary Pliosaur tooth from their sandy tomb.

Xiphactinus was a large voracious predator up to 20 feet long! These fossils have been found with the remains of large, partially digested, prey in their stomachs - even one with a perfectly preserved 6ft long fish inside it.
